SYNSTASIS is a turn-based cyberpunk RPG with tactical elements, set in a post-libertarian future where governments have been deemed irrelevant and 90% of humanity live in megacities run entirely by corporations.
The story revolves around a group of scavengers of spare parts and machinery living in the underbelly of a megacity, and their unwitting entanglement in a plot that could determine the fate of 8 million people.
The game presents a futuristic world that spurs the imagination, while remaining logical and plausible, by incorporating several technologies and socio-economic concepts that are currently in development and which may become reality in the near-to-distant future.
In July 2016, I was brought on board the Synstasis project to contribute to the development of their upcoming vertical slice for Steam. The project represented my first substantial game development contributions as a professional, so it was crucial that I effectively integrated with the established team members, their workflows, and quickly familiarized myself with the projects codebase.
Over the course of our demo development, I had a wide range of development responsibilites, including end-to-end design and development of systems and implemeting features from specifications defined by our designers. I heavily contributed to addressing bugs and issues, providing feedback and perspectives for design and technical problems.
